NA – Truman Doctrine

The Grand Alliance was strained by Stalin’s plans to expand his Communist regime. At Yalta and Potsdam, Stalin agreed not to interfere with Britain’s plans if they did not interfere with his plans with Poland. Britain held their side of the agreement , however the West believe that Stalin indirectly  disregarded their agreement, by funding Yugoslavia and Bulgaria, in their attempt at Communist expansion in Greece. This led to the Greek Civil war in December 1944 only months before German occupation had ended, which was fought between the Monarchists and the Communist rebels.
