AB – Consequences of the Berlin Blockade


This article highlights the main consequences of the Berlin Blockade, for instance, it reveals that the deterioration of East-West relations was the worst point since 1945; moreover, the formation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, was the most important  consequence of the Berlin Blockade, as the event displayed how the West was military weak. Furthermore, because of the Berlin Blockade, it made the separation in Germany a reality, as the USSR showed that they weren’t interested in making a united and free Germany, and this was shown through their actions; hence, the West set up the Federal Republic of Germany, and the USSR set up the German Democratic Republic. Those are the important consequences of the Berlin Blockade, that the article highlights.
